5 Philosophical considerations


Two kinds of types are involved in conceptual graphs:

  • conceptual types (types of concepts)
  • relation types (types of relations)

Both of these concepts are very important when trying to understand conceptual graphs. Since they are both instances of the concept of "type", it is well to treat this concept in some detail before covering concept types and relation types.
