3 Concept types and instances

Brief review

In Module I, we learned about concept types and concept instances.

• A type is a label (or name) we give to a group of entities with similar traits.

• We talk of subtypes and supertypes which form a lattice of types.

• Types always only exist in the abstract, but instances of types may exist in the concrete.

• Every CG is part of a knowledge base which has a catalog of individuals.
